Sports Journalist Fifi Namiiro dedicates FICTS recognition to late mother

Sports Journalist Phiona Namiiro “Fifi Pinky has expressed her delight upon winning the Most outstanding sports personality award (APL mentorship award) at the 14th edition of the Kampala International FICTS Festival held at Tal Cottages Hotel in Kampala.

Namiiro is one of the few female Sports journalists in the country, works with Star FM and Star TV under the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation.

“I am extremely delighted to have been recognised with the most outstanding sports personality award at the Kampala International FICTS Festival.” The award will inspire me to work hard to achieve more but above all I thank the Almighty who always enables me overcome various challenges.”

I dedicate this award to my lovely son Sky Serenold and my late mother Sarah Nanfuka.” Stated Namiiro.

Namiiro received her award on Wednesday from Hon Johnson Muyanja who was the Chief guest at the closing ceremony held at Tal Cottages Hotel

At the same event, Sports photographer John Batanudde was also recognized.
