South Africa name Belgian as new Bafana Bafana head coach

The South African football association has confirmed that Belgian coach Hugo Broos will replace Molefi Ntseki as the next head coach of Bafana Bafana.

Ntseki was sacked at the end of March this year following an embarrassing AFCON qualification campaign that saw South Africa fail to qualify for Cameroon 2021.

The new coach is expected to fly into the country next week where he us scheduled to meet South Africa’s football stakeholders and also be unveiled to the media.

Broos said that it is prime target to build a new Bafafana Bafana team and also guide them to major football tournaments.

” My focus will be to weave in new players who have hunger and desire to achieve things. Young players are ambitious and want to prove a point”

He added.

The Belgian is well known in African football after winning AFCON 2017 with Cameroon in Gabon .

His instant task will be ensuring that South Africa qualifiers for World Cup 2022 that will be hosted by Qatar.

South Africa are in qualifying group G alongside Ghana, Ethiopia and neighbors Zinbabwe.
