It wasn’t going to be another heartbreak following last year’s exit at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns.

KCCA FC this time knew the task at hand and they only needed a win to advance to the much revered CAF Champions League group stages.

Muhammad Shaban eased the nerves of the fully packed Phillip Omondi stadium when he jumped higher than the entire St George defence to guide a perfectly weighed Mustapha Kizza trademark cross past Robert Odongkara only 2 minutes after the break.

KCCA kicked off the game with shire urgency with the Hunger of a wounded lion, making attack after the other but Robert Odongkara stood up to all the challenges.

Mike Mutebi withdrew Allan Okello for Julius Poloto, and later on Solomon Okwalinga was introduced for the wearing Paul Mucureezi

St. George almost found the equalizer with only 10 minutes left but Charles Lukwago was found alert to thwart the damage.

KCCA now await the draws that will be held on 21st March at the CAF headquarters in Cairo.
