Nigerian Starlet Ilenikhena Makes Move to Ligue 1 Giants

Nigerian wonderkid George Ilenikhena is on the cusp of a major career leap. Renowned transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that the 17-year-old forward is close to finalizing a transfer to Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco.

Monaco is reportedly wasting no time, scheduling Ilenikhena’s medical this week with the intent to seal the deal before the week’s end.

The Lagos-born striker’s talent comes at a premium, with Monaco expected to pay a hefty €20 million transfer fee to Royal Antwerp.

The move comes after a breakout season for Ilenikhena with Royal Antwerp. He showcased his attacking prowess by bagging 14 goals and chipping in with an assist across 50 appearances in all competitions.

This move to Monaco presents an exciting opportunity for the young Nigerian to showcase his skills on a bigger stage and test himself against some of France’s finest.
