MOTORSPORT : UMOSPOC officially launches Total Kabalega Rally

United Motor Sport Club (UMOSPOC) launched the 2019 Total Kabalega Rally to be hosted in mid-west district of Hoima next month.

The rally was launched at Q7 Kabuusu but will take place between 17th – 20th October in Tooro region.

The event will officially start on Thursday 17th October with a vintage car show at Kontik Hotel.

Scrutineering will be done on Friday 18th in Hoima but there will also be the karting competition on the same day.

Thereafter, the official flag off will be done by the Omukama of Tooro, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru at 3:00pm.

Saturday, 19th October will commence the competitive element of the rally with two stages running before the Super Special at Kontik Hotel.

A total distance of 303 kilometers will be covered, that is competitive – 173.8km and Liaison 129km.

Courtesy of the rally, UMOSPOC intends to have environmental awareness where participants are expected to plant trees.

The Kabalega Rally is the penultimate round of this year’s National Rally Championship. Hassan Allawi leads the standings with 355 points, Ronald Sebuguzi and Leon Senyange come second with 300 points.

Total, a leading petroleum company in the country, came aboard to support the event logistically and financially.

However the event was also able to attract partnership with World Wide Movers, Uganda Communication Commission (UCC), Chonquig International Construction Corporation (CICO), Kontik Hotel – Hoima, Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC), Victoria University, RoseFoam Mattresses, Coca-Cola, Kings Broadcasting Service, Spice FM, Royal Motors, Bugembe Tea Estate, Fire and Safety Appliances, BetOn, Miica Eco Resort among others.
