The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has expressed gratitude to its Ugandan wing the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) for conducting the first ever online Women’s Sports administrators’ course.
Speaking to the participants of the course on Zoom conference, FIFA Executive board member who also doubles as the chairperson of the Women in Sport commission of the International Olympic Committee Ms Lydia Nsekera expressed her gratitude towards this effort. She said:,
“Sports need women leaders, I encourage you to go ahead. Congratulations to the Uganda Olympic Committee and president William upon this great milestone.”
The Uganda Olympic Committee has gone against all odds to be the first member country of the International Olympic Movement to conduct an Advanced Women Sports Administrators’ Course (ASMC – Women).
On his side, the president of the Uganda Olympic Committee Mr. William Blick expressed his delight.
“I am very happy that Uganda is leading the way internationally. Having this course online is the first event of the Women in sport commission and I am glad to be at the Uganda Olympic Committee as we pioneer this initiative.”
