Fortebet Real Stars Awards: Rugby, Motorsport nominees for April revealed

The organisers of the Fortebet Real Stars monthly awards have released the Rugby and Motorsport nominees for the month of April.

In Rugby, Kobs’ James Ijongat, Ivan Magomu (Pirates) and Aziz Khan (Heathens) are the three nominees who will battle for the award.

Ijongat played two games including one against rivals Heathens and managed to 12 points in their 19-11 victory. He also put up an astonishing performance against Hippos as Kobs maintained their grid at the summit.

Magomu on the other managed to garner 19 points for second placed Pirates during the month of April while Khan was instrumental for Heathen in the same, helping them to two wins in three games he played and collected 5 points for the side.

Kobs currently top the league with 33 points, Pirates 30 while Heathens are third with 29 points.

In Motorsport, Duncan Mubiru Kikankane, Jas Mangat and Hassan Alwi are the three nominees for April gong.

Mubiru won the third round of the 2020/21 National Rally Championship in Sembabule posting a total of 55minutes and 54.17 seconds to beat Mangat and Alwi to the championship.

The other nominee is Mangat who recovered from a tough day one of the three day Equator Rally on Sunday 25th April in Kenya to finish third on the podium. The Equator Rally in Naivasha, Kenya also doubled as the second round of the 2021 Africa Rally Championship.

During the same month, Mangat finished second at the third round of the NRC in Sembabule where he was just 24 seconds short of the winners Mubiru

Alwi who finished third in Sembabule completes the Motorsport nominees for the month of April.

The winners will be awarded on Tuesday, 4th May, 2021 at 256 Enroute Restaurant in Lugogo. The monthly awards are proudly sponsored by Fortebet, Canaan Bull energy drink and Jude Color solutions.
