The football governing body of Morocco (FRMF) has reportedly offered over 21,000 USD (Approximately 75 million ugx) to each player if they manage to make the quarter finals of the CHAN championships, a tournament they will host between January 13th – February 4th.
The host nation has never played in any final of CHAN and they look forward to better their previous performances.
Their first ever qualification for the tournament was in the 2014 edition that was hosted by South Africa which is also their best performance, having managed to make the quarter finals losing to Nigeria after extra time.
Morocco’s other attendance was in Rwanda 2016 but they failed to progress past group A which had Ivory Coast, Rwanda and Gabon.
The reports were published by a Moroccan daily Al AhdathAl Maghribia that Herve Renard’s men will bag in excesses of 100 million ugx each if they make the semi finals.
Morocco are in group A of the competition alongside Mauritania, Guinea and Sudan. They open up their campaign against Mauritania on the 13th of January in Casablanca.
