BIKA FOOTBALL : Ffumbe edge Mpeewo 2-0 in first leg of the quarter finals.

Ffumbe clan has continued with an impressive run in this year’s Bika football tournament with a 2-0 win past Mpeewo at Wankulukuku stadium in the first leg of the Quarter finals.

Ffumbe who are yet to concede any goal in this year’s campaign took the lead through captain Kasolo Mustapha in the first five minutes of the game. Kigozi Andrew who was part of the Gomba team that claimed the the recent concluded Masaza cup then doubled the lead in the closing stages of the first half with a clinical finish.

Ffumbe Coach Ntege Richard admits the job is not yet done pending the return leg. He adds,

“Despite our opponents being a strong team they failed to harm us. It has been a result of hard work and working together as a team. It’s a win but we didn’t play to our expectations so we are going to correct all the mistakes and comeback more lethal.”

Ffumbe started the campaign with a 1-0 win against Musu before edging Ngeye 3-0 in the first leg of round of 16. Ngeye and Ffumbe then played a 0-0 stalemate to advance to today’s encounter.

Mpeewo XI
Kagiri Micheal, Mugambe Stephen, Kibirango Saad (C), Ssaka Mpiima, Ssekamwa George William, Ssekamwa Sulaiman, Mugambe Henry, Ssaku Patrick, Kilyowa Abdul, Nadduli Ronald, Mpiima Julius.

The aggregate winner between Ffumbe and Mpeewo after the two legs will take on winner between Mpindi and Balangira where Mpindi in is the driving seat with 2-0 after the first leg.
