Vipers Sc came agoal behind to win Police Fc 3-1 to progress in the last 16 of the Stanbic Uganda cup thanks to Milton Karisa, Erisa Ssekisambu and Dan Sserunkuuma goals which cancelled Norman Ojik’s opener for police in the first minute of the game.

The Police FC head coach who was sent to the stands by Brian Miiro Nsubuga asserts that,  most of the senior referees in the country have a tendency of seeking headlines instead of concentrating on their task of officiating the game in fairness.

He said,

“It’s a pity to see some senior referees who officiate games and think they are untouchables, personally all the issues have had with referees have been against the senior ones, these are the people who thinks are above every person on the pitch “

“I however thank the Junior referees who carry out their roles in a proper way, my remainder to the senior officials is that the fans come to watch players not them during match day games.”

Ayala Luyinda the assistant coach who took over after Mubiru’s send off also echoed his boss’ words,

“The referee wanted me to move across to him near the pitch which I am ineligible to do and i told him he should communicate to me when am in my dugout, i refused basing of the laws then he made his decision.”

Mubiru congratulated Vipers Sc and thanks his players for the great display. He says,

“I congratulate Vipers Sc for progressing to the next round, i also thank my players for the great display. In football getting results is always the most important thing but am impressed with the way my team played and we are to correct our mistakes heading into the next game.”

Mubiru and his beleaguered troops will return to action on Tuesday 20th of February in the league encounter as they host UPDF Fc at Namboole.
