Uganda held their nerve to secure a convincing 86-run victory over Malawi on Day 4 of the Kwibuka Tournament.

Batting first, Uganda endured a nightmarish start, collapsing to 41/6. An impressive bowling display from Malawi, with disciplined lines and lengths, stifled the Ugandan batters’ shot selection.

However, a crucial 42-run partnership between Rita Musamali (55*) and Malisa Ariokot (17) salvaged the innings.

Musamali’s composed knock in the final 10 overs propelled Uganda to a defendable total of 118/8. Malawi’s chase faltered from the outset.

Uganda’s young bowling duo, Patricia Timong (4/4) and Lorna Anyait (2/4), showcased exceptional control and accuracy, restricting Malawi to a meager 32 runs.

This win keeps Uganda undefeated and in second place, only behind the hosts Rwanda on net run rate.

They face Kenya in their next encounter, aiming to maintain their dominance in the tournament.
