Mbarara City, Proline lock horns at Luzira

SINAN RAJUB SENOGA

Mbarara City and Proline will vie for a winning start when both sides meet at the Luzira Prisons ground on Saturday.

Luzira is an unfamiliar home ground for the hosts Mbarara City whose Kakyeka stadium couldn’t beat the conditions of the licensing committee in time.

Both sides will be hoping to repeat their feat of last season despite having new coaches at the moment.

Unlike Proline’s Mathias Lule, Mbarara City’s Brian Senyondo will be in charge of a top-flight game for the first time.

The tie comes so early for Mbarara City’s new signings Gadaffi Gadinho and Bashir Muweesi who have been excluded from the match day traveling squad.

The Ankole Lions will look up to Paul Mucurezi, Hilary Mukundane, Ibrahim Orit and goalkeeper Tom Ikara for inspiration.

Proline will miss out on veteran defender Sakka Mpiima who is ruled out by injury.

Ivan Bogere, Bright Anukani, Hakim Kiwanuka and captain Noordin Bunjo are expected to lead Proline’s surge for a positive result.

Both sides won their home game when they last met in the 2017-18 season. A 3-0 at Lugogo and a slim 1-0 in Mbarara.
